We live in a culture that seems to breed and even reward highly narcissistic behavior. The emphasis on individualism and the persistence of hierarchical social structures and traditional gender roles contribute to patterns of narcissistic abuse and codependency that make finding healthy relationships difficult.
Whether you grew up with narcissistic parents and/or siblings or whether you found or find yourself in a relationship with abusive dynamics later in adulthood (or, as often is the case, both), this group will help you understand, heal and grow.
We will explore the psychological underpinnings of behavior along the spectrum from healthy to malignant narcissism. By discussing the relationship between toxic narcissism and codependency, participants will move from feeling like victims of narcissistic abuse to being able to set strong boundaries with others and stay attuned to their own needs. Through role play, mind-body awareness and mutual support, the group will process the many emotions that arise after betrayal and other aspects of narcissistic abuse. Participants will help one another heal the core wounds that may have made them vulnerable to being victimized in the first place.
